Valentine's Day Cake Pops

With Valentine's Day coming up there are all sorts of yummy creations out there. I wanted to do something I hadn't seen before so I decided to do Sweetheart Cake Pops. Let me tell you it was difficult but they turned our pretty good and tasted delicious. I made them for a client for her Bunko party and is sounds like all the woman LOVED them! Here is how I made them....

First I cooked the chocolate cake mix, let it cool, then mix it up with chocolate frosting...
Then I formed the mixture into hearts....
While they were in the fridge getting hard I got all the melts ready....
I melted the white chocolate and stuck each heart with a stick with melted chocolate on it, this is the consistency you want your melted chocolate to be at.....
After letting the pop chill a bit with the stick in it I then took them out one by one from the fridge and dipped them into the chocolate, then held them up right until they hardened....
Once they were all dipped and hard I then melted red chocolate and used a squeeze bottle to write cute words on each.....
One turned out like this, like I said, they were difficult, but the hubby enjoyed this one....
The rest turned out like these ones...
I then placed them all in a cute red take out box for display....

Christmas Desserts

For Christmas I made a few desserts that I wanted to share because they were so darn good! The first picture is of a Carmel Apple Cheesecake Pie which I got the recipe from annies-eats.com and it is absolutely to die for! It had the perfect mixture of caramel, apples, cheesecake and graham cracker crust topped with pecans! It was a big hit to say the least.

The second dessert I made also had cheesecake in it but instead of using the usual graham cracker crust like I did with the above dessert I decided to get fancy. My husband loves Candy Cane Joes Joes from Trader Joes so I decided to make a Candy Cane Joes Joes pie crust and fill it with cheesecake.
First I blended all the cookies up....

Then I added melted butter and a little bit of sugar and placed mixture into cupcake liners...
I baked the mixture until it had the stiffness of a crust
Then whipped up the cheese cake, placed it in the cups and baked it...

 They were delicious!
I also made some Carmel corn popcorn as well and let me tell you it is the best I have ever had! My Dad even said it was the best he had ever had as well and Carmel corn is his favorite!!

Cupcake Toppers {Event}

So a while ago I put my cupcake toppers in the Sugar Plum Festival and they sold pretty quickly! I took some pictures of my set up and I wanted to post just a couple of them on here to show all of you!

Chinese New Year

I have always loved Chinese New Year and working in Garden Grove as well as living right next to Little Saigon for a year really taught me how uniquely special and beautiful this holiday is! This year was extra special however because my Grandma's 84th Birthday fell on Chinese New Year plus she was born the year of the Dragon and this New Year is the year of the Dragon as well, one of the most sought after years to have a baby in! My Mother decided to throw her a family party with the theme being, of course, Chinese New Year. I was in charge of the dessert and decided to do a delicious lemon curd and cream cheese cake topped with homemade Chinese fortune cookies dipped in red melted chocolate. It turned out perfectly and to complement it I bought an assortment of Chinese cookies! I got the recipe for the fortune cookies from annies-eats.com and the cake was my own recipe with an addition of lemon curd I found at Trader Joes. Here are some festive photos....

Operation Shower

I had to share this dessert table I came across not only because it involves my most favorite theme, Zoo Animals, but also because it is for an absolutely amazing cause! Operation Shower, which can been found here, http://operationshower.org/, is a non-profit company that throws baby showers for military families. What can be more amazing then that? What a wonderful company with such an amazing cause! If you would like to help out, on their website there is a section where you can donate time, money or products to them. Here is the photographers' Facebook page where you can check out more pictures from the shower, http://www.facebook.com/jackieculmerphotography?sk=wall.
