So a while ago I put my cupcake toppers in the Sugar Plum Festival and they sold pretty quickly! I took some pictures of my set up and I wanted to post just a couple of them on here to show all of you!

Cupcake Toppers
I love baking and I love adding a little more then frosting to my cupcakes, which is where cupcake toppers come into play! I have really enjoyed creating different types of unique and fun toppers and I just opened an Etsy account. I must say it is all really new to me and I am completely lost when it comes to marketing and using Etsy but it will soon all fall into place! Here are some pictures of recent toppers! Here is my Esty page: http://www.etsy.com/people/katysylvester

MIA
Well I have been pretty busy the last few weeks and I do apologize for not posting very much but to be honest I have not been doing very much when it comes to desserts. My husband and I have been dealing with a short sale for the last 8 months and in the last couple of weeks we have been dealing with a lot of paper work and decisions because we are finally going to close escrow in a few weeks! We are very excited and cant wait to begin remodeling the town home and building a family in something we actually own! Owning a home has been something very important to my husband and myself. It is important to us to own something, take care of it and mold it into something we will live in for a long time. On that note I have also been debating on what in the world I want to pursue with when it comes to Savory & Sweet. I want this company to bloom into something big but at this moment I am not too sure what I want it to grow into. Right now I have the opportunity to begin selling my cake toppers at The Sugar Plum Festival. This will give me a chance to see if it is worth my time to continue to pursue creating paper products or if I should just concentrate my time on desserts & dessert tables. I would love to end up having a one stop shop that pretty much has everything to do with dessert tables, but that is in the far future. I will also begin selling my toppers and other paper products on Esty as well. I have been working quietly on toppers in the last couple of weeks which is another reason no blogs have been posted. I plan on posting some toppers on here and eventually having a link to my Etsy shop, which I have yet to create! In the mean time I do have an order for some cake pops that I will begin creating in the next couple of days that I would love you to check out. I will be posting a blog on that soon! As for now, I hope all is well!
***By the way I know I was suppose to make a Tuesday Treat Blue Cheese and Strawberry cupcake, which I will get to, I promise!

Getting the Party Started...
So I have been MIA for about a week now and it is mainly because I went on a big camping trip with the whole family for 4 days! It was a ton of fun (minus the bugs) and we all cant wait to plan a trip for next year!
On another note I am super excited this week because I get to begin creating all the fun festivities for my Niece's 8th Birthday party which is this Friday! I have already begun creating the toppers and labels, here are a few teasers of what they look like!

Greeting Cards
Recently I received The Cupcake Bible from my sister-in-law and today she gave me Bakerella's Cake Pop's book, which I am so excited about! I wanted to give her a thank you card but unfortunately I did not have one on hand and I did not want to go out and purchase one because very few times do I go shopping and actually come home with only one item. I then realized that I had so much scrapbooking paper from my cupcake toppers that I decided to try my hand at a thank you card. I decided to use the colors orange & blue because I think she is going to be using them for my nephews 2nd Birthday party next month and I thought maybe it would be a great way to advertise how crafty I can be! We will see what she says about it tomorrow, but until then, I think it turned out pretty darn good. Here is a couple pictures of it....
Maybe I will begin creating and selling these too along with my cupcake toppers on my soon to be Esty shop!

Cupcake Toppers!
As I have been lurking around the DIY websites and blogs I noticed these toppers that were very cute and added an extra pizazz to desserts and decor. I decided to try and do my own cupcake toppers but adding a little twist to them! I really liked all the toppers I saw but they were all printed off of the computer, I wanted 3D toppers that POP out at you as well as encouraging people to use them again when scrap booking or for other projects. Therefore, me liking to plan ahead, I created these toppers for a "What's it gonna bee?" party, which someday, hopefully in the near future, I can use for myself!

I then made some for my sister-in-law's bridal shower in hopes that they would use them, and they did! I made sure they were the colors being used for the shower and the bride-to-be made these really cute cupcakes that complemented the cupcake toppers so well!Flower embellishments
Perfect colors!
I then began making them for birthdays, fundraisers, Boy Scout events, holidays and so on. Lately I have been lazy making them but I am planning on making some toppers for the decor for my Mom's dessert table and instead of sticking them on cupcakes I was going to use them for little signs!St. Patrick's Day
