Creamsicle Oreo Pops

Well I am happy to report that I was actually able to make the Creamsicle Oreo Pops, and they don't look too bad!

Here is how I made them!

First I had to find these suckers at Walmart (thought they ran out of them!)

Then I had to separate all the broken ones out (there was a lot) The hubby was happy though!

Then I stuck a lollipop stick in each one & put them in the refrigerator so the cream could get hard

While they were chilling out I started to melt the chocolate candy melts

This took about 3 times at 30 seconds on 50% power

I then took one Oreo out at a time and dipped it in the chocolate, using a fork to help coat it

I then dipped the chocolate covered Oreo pop into white sprinkles

Then let them all cool out on wax paper in the refrigerator

And here is the end result, a Chocolate Covered Creamsicle Oreo Pop!

I hope my little nephew loves them!

Tomorrow I will attempt to make the cake balls.

Creamsicle Obbsession!

I must admit I do not like creamsicle flavored anything, BUT my husband does, and when he found creamsicle oreos at Walmart the other day I was inspired to try out oreo pops for the first time! I have seen other websites have pictures of oreo pops or just plain chocolate covered oreos and I actually looked up how much it would be to order these amazingly made oreos by sweetiesbykim but then the price was just too much, so I decided that I am going to try to make my own! Like I said before, I am going to make cake pops for my nephews 2nd birthday party this weekend but now I have decided to surprise my sister-in-law (which probably wont end up being a surprise because she reads this blog) by making creamsicle oreo pops or, if I am unsuccessful at the pop part, just plain chocolate covered creamsicle oreos! I am planning on making orange pops with white sprinkles and then reversing it with the oreos by making white oreos with orange sprinkles! I hope it all works out!

Ice Cream Party Dessert Table Finale!

Well this weekend was my niece's 8th Birthday party and we celebrated it with tons of ice cream, a huge bounce house and good friends and family! Everything to do with the dessert table turned out better then expected and everyone love it! I was very happy that it was so successful and look forward to the next dessert table I get to plan, Any takers? I do get to create some cake pops for my nephews 2nd Birthday party this upcoming weekend where the theme is going to be creamsicle or 50-50 bar inspiration. So I am of course going to do an orange coating and my sister-in-law would like me to do white sprinkles. I think I might actually try to make a couple look like creamsicle bars but who knows if that will work! Here are some pictures from my niece's birthday! Enjoy!

Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops!

As I said before my wonderful Sister-in-law bought me Bakerella's Cake Pop book and I decided to try my hand at the Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops for my niece's birthday party and I must admit I did a pretty good job! I thought, based on last times attempt, that it was going to be super hard and disappointing. However I was wrong! It worked out perfectly because I didn't need to use the sticks (which was the main difficulty the first time) and the cake ball itself rested perfectly on top of the sugar cone! They are perfect for the party and I could not be any happier with the end result! Check them out!

Cookies, Ice Cream & Cupcakes Oh My!

My Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law make amazing custom cookies and decorated them perfectly! I have always told them they should start up a business because I think they could make pretty good side money making them but they always say it is just for fun AND it is a lot of work for just a side job! I asked them to make some ice cream cone cookies for my nieces birthday party because I knew they would look super cute on the dessert table. I then decided that it would be an even better idea to have them as favors on the dessert table instead. I think my nieces Mother is also planning on doing dollar gift certificates to Baskin Robbins as favors too which we will wrap up with the cookies! Here is a picture of the adorable ice cream cone cookies.
Perfect colors for the party!
I just added a bag and a cute label!

Today I did some major shopping for all the goodies for the dessert table with the help of my younger niece and nephew! I was very surprised to see how cheap everything so far has been, thanks to Target!

Getting the Party Started...

So I have been MIA for about a week now and it is mainly because I went on a big camping trip with the whole family for 4 days! It was a ton of fun (minus the bugs) and we all cant wait to plan a trip for next year!

On another note I am super excited this week because I get to begin creating all the fun festivities for my Niece's 8th Birthday party which is this Friday! I have already begun creating the toppers and labels, here are a few teasers of what they look like!

Ice Cream Party Dessert Table Inspiration

If you have been reading my blog you would know that I have been asked to create an Ice Cream dessert table for my niece's 8th birthday party! I am very excited and can't wait to put my touches on her party! I searched and searched for the perfect image that would spark my inspiration for her dessert table and I think I found it!

What do you think?

This image is perfect because it has a little bit of a tropical theme to it with the little umbrella and bamboo chopsticks popping out of it (her bounce house is a tropical theme). I plan on pulling the colors from this image: pinks, greens and oranges(as well as the image itself) to create topping labels, toppers, gift tags and maybe even a banner, we will see if I have enough time!

I also plan on, of course, having MORE then just ice cream. I mean the Birthday girls' favorite thing is ice cream, but the guests might enjoy something else! Which is why I am going to do some mini cupcakes that look like ice cream cones along with some sugar cookies in the shape of ice cream cones. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law make adorable decorated sugar cookies that look professionaly made that would work perfectly for my niece's birthday event! I also want to attempt to make ice cream cone cake balls as well!
Here are some pictures that I will be using for inspiration!

July 4th 2011

Well the 4th has come and gone and I must admit it was extra patriotic with my dessert table all set up! The parade was more fun then usual, the company was great and the food was to die for! Unfortunately, the hubby's bike was stolen while we stopped at a friends house for some libations. Other then that, is was a great day! Here are some pictures!

Ice Cream Party Dessert Table

I am so excited to be asked to design and create a dessert table for my lovely niece, Riley, who will be turning 8 years old in a few weeks! She absolutely LOVES ice cream and wanted to have her birthday at Frog's Bounce House, however they do not allow ice cream, for multiple reasons. Therefore, they decided to have the bounce houses come to them, which means she will get her ice cream too!

I want to create a make your own sundae dessert table that will consist of multiple favors of ice cream along with massive amounts of toppings! I better start shopping for more ideas! Pictures coming soon!
